After having practiced for more than two years, paid for online lessons, joined Jamplay, and played Rocksmith 1 and 2, all I still have to show are calluses on my fingers. I realize, I have no talent, but there seems to be a near addiction to attempting to make music with a guitar, especially blues. So when I saw and heard the EASY GUITAR SOLO on YOUTUBE, I thought I can do this and it will sound good. With the free tabs no longer available, I was willing to spend $7.00 just to get the tabs with hopes there would be more of the same: Easy to play, good sounding blues for people like me who are forever beginners. Well, I am a little disappointed. Just like Rocksmith, which goes from easy to hard in one or two steps with little in between, Brian, who is a great guitarist, demonstrates mostly unobtainable songs (unless one has been playing for many years or has a lot of talent).
Brian, if you are reading this, there is a huge market out there. Many people who want to learn how to play, don’t have the time or ambition to put in the effort. But you demonstrated that it is possible to sound good the easy way. It may be boring for you, but it is a pleasure for people like me to finally hear something decent emitted from our guitars. There should be many incremental steps from beginner to expert and the process must be slow considering how humans learn. I should know. I teach psychology to college students. So please, if you can, provide most blues lessons which address the needs for people like me.
Thanks
Kurt
