Doug! This was great! Did you play all the guitar parts?! Great sound, very authentic, and that goes for all guitars in the song. I am really impressed.
Regards,
PatrickPs. And yes, you are a much much better guitar player than a singer… 🙂

Very nice Doug!! I must say that your SoundCloud channel is filling out nicely. If you keep this up, it’s going to be my go to station…
PS. I liked the version with the vocals as well…

Wow Doug, another awesome post. I’m not sure how much better you could possible get but you seem to kick it up a notch every time.

This was pretty great Doug. At first, I was going to suggest that you do a little more than simply mimic what’s on the record. But I thought twice and decided to check out a live Eagles performance of it. To my surprise, and chagrin, they did a carbon copy of the record, but they sounded and looked bored for the most part. Your version had more life to it than their live account. And I can’t fairly ask for more than that.
FWIW, I have had a love/hate relationship with that song for years. Great progression, some amazing guitar stuff. Awful, pretentious lyrics. And I hate it ending on the repeated triplet patterns. So calculated, and to my ears dull after what came before. But that’s actually a bit off topic. Really great job on this one.

When the mind is focusing and concentrating, well, you nailed it.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Hi Doug,
wonderfully made. Absolutely professionally. Great Work.
How much time do you need to get the together?Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

It took between 15 to 20 hours to learn the parts and record them, mixing was a challenge there was 12 tracks due to volume issues. But it was fun, I’m workin’ on “The legend of Woolly Swamp” by Charlie Dannals, not so involved.
Thanks to ya”ll for your kind words, this is a GREAT site, and its the people that make the site, thanks again. 😀
