Seasons greetings AM members! I like to share my recent searches for practicing , first ,I like how Brian explained in recent lesson EP 337 , how he creates his compositions first finding the notes within the key of a melody and than builds off the simple melody embellishing chords major/minor 7ths tones triads double stops etc, ..
I enjoyed EP 337 intro lesson and thought mentioning here under “Discuss Songs/Music” Topics
I like to try learning to play a few more complicated Christmas songs around the holidays,, Latest Duffy sharing an interesting walking bass concept of a classic light jazz arrangement
“Misty” some other different styles/concepts recently from other Active Melody participants got me thinking jazz chords again too so I was browsing tonight found some cool links to share here for ideas, advice, discussion, etc,Some seem too difficult or at least a stretch for most here but some are doable ..anyways I enjoyed and thought to share with other guitar players at any level ..these are fun to watch and enjoy. Happy Holidays!
start with some the late.. I guess they nicknamed him “the guitar chemist” Ted Greene ,,not that I am big on any jazz yet because it looks too hard for one thing .. but to just get ideas .. also skip to 7:50.. Hark the little short arrangement is interesting how he explains embellishing simple melody and than watch the whole thing a second time.. I think Duffy would like this maybe even Brian lol
