    To All;

I like the groove of this one. I worked a little bit each of the past few days and thought it would be cool to post a recording.

AM Dlx strat – bridge pickup
    Boss BD-2 Blues Driver
    Boss SD-1Overdrive
    DigiTech RV-7Hardwire Reverb
Vox DA-5 Clean Setting – line out to recording interface

I hope others will record and post.

Hey Dave, very cool man! You nailed it, even matched the tone almost exactly. Also, great concept of posting what you’re practicing… I think you may have started something.. I’d love to hear others post what they’re working on (or struggling with) so that I (we) can help. Even if you don’t have as slick of a recording set up as Dave. Hmm… now you’ve inspired me Dave, maybe I should take your rhythm track, download it, and solo over it – virtual jamming style.

Ok, here you go – here’s my virtual jam with Dave’s rhythm track. Listen to the MP3

Sorry Brian couldn’t listen to you ” virtual jam ” as Internet Explorer could not find the webpage.

Hmm.. yeah that’s odd – didn’t work for me either in Explorer. Just right click on it and choose “Save Link As” – that’ll work.

Cool , done.BTW I had been listening to this track quite a bit , I like to absorb it as much as possible before rushing in to play ( no gigs coming up so I’m good ;-P )& I found it reminding me of something else. That something else turned out to be Mainline ,Florida
by Eric Clapton off 461 Ocean Boulevard. The tone is similar & though not exact they are sort of in the same vein don’t you think ?

Ahh yeah, you’re right – that does kind of have that Mainline Florida riff. I’m a huge Clapton fan and love the 461 Ocean Blvd. album – so I’m sure it was stuck in my sub-conscious. Good catch.

      Thanks LP.

Brian the Jam was super. It worked without a hitch using Firefox browser.

I welcome anyone else who wants to jam to the track or post their own. I used http://www.4shared.com/ to save and share the file. It’s free.

Yeah, I have to admit that kind of stuff is super fun. I’ve always thought it would be really cool to collaborate back and forth like that with strangers and compose a song, with everyone playing their actual parts.

Joe – Nice solo using the the BB King lesson jam track Key of A. I liked the feel and the tone. Easy to listen to….

You say that was your first guitar posting? Great recording. Can you share your recording setup, and software etc. there may be others that will benefit from your experience.

Yea…just started trying blues solo stuff when I found this WAY COOL site!!

In fact, this is really my first try at solo-ing. (gonna be cramming to show off for my college kid when he comes home in a few weeks) 🙂

      Anyways…here’s what I used.

      Epi Les Paul Standard Plus
Line 6 Pocket Pod (mid twang, mid hall)
Straight into a Tascam Porta Studio 414 ( I knew I’d use it sometime, bought it probably like10 yrs ago for my kid)

After recording, ran it straight in off the high speed tape to my laptop and “Nero wave editor”.

      Added in some reverb.
