Well, here we go then. I honestly don’t know what the Lesson number is for this, I think it was possibly one of the old “LEG” lessons( which I couldn’t find).
I recall attempting this about 4 or so years back and what you are getting today is from memory, So it is what it is and I’ve thrown a few pictures into the video of Bonny Scotland just to distract from my playing hahahaha
Stand alone without a backing track is something I don’t usually do/try/attempt..anyway, enough waffle from me.

Excellent playing, your best ever! You seem really relaxed and made it look easy. I’ve never heard any lesson like that. You could have told us you just made it up and we would have believed you. BTW, I loved the photos of Scotland. I would love to see some more, since I’ve never been there.

Its one of the “Leg” series of lessons Steve, I tried to track it down but couldnt find it. What I attempted to play was how i remembered it, so its probably nothing like Brians version..
Very Scenic and historic landscape here in Scotland Steve, I’ll gather some pics together and tie them into a slde show for you..

There’s certainly something familiar with that lick that runs through the song but I’m not sure if it’s a Brian song or something else. Anyhow that was very enjoyable to listen to and the views of Bonny Scotland were a sight for sore eyes.

Thank you very much. I’m not normally one for doing the monthly challenges but this one fired me up because I don’t do stand alone playing usually, have to admit though that this was a lot of fun, I suppose because I didn’t have to worry about timing or what the backing track was doing.

I liked the feeling you created Billy. Bluesy! I was at New Castle area a few years back. You seem to live even further north. I was so intrigued by the diversity in terms of English accents. Was little hard to understand what the fight attendants were saying once I was on the small plane to New Castle. Stayed at Durham. I was told it is where the Industrial Revolution started.

Great stuff Billy, very emotive & as I listened I kept thinking a metronome in the background (only just audible) would sound really cool not just as a timing tool but as a separate instrument?

I had thought about a stompbox like steve used in his response but i thought that was outside the criteria Brian had set so i left it out, it certainly worked for Steve though, his response was fantastic.

Thanks Dana, im scared to look the lesson up incase ive really butchered it hahahaha
Thats probably one of the drawbacks to AM having so many lessons that the older (and just as good) get over looked.

Good job Billy. I can see how that tune stuck in your mind. Really cool and relaxing. You play well and I enjoyed listening. Cheers to you. Pap

Holy cow, it must have taken me 5 minutes to scroll down to the comment window! Goes to show how much your contributions are valued, Billy. Same here! Great to see you participating in the challenge. And you sent in a mighty find piece of playing, chap. I instantly recognized it. It’s one of my favorite pieces and I posted it once, too. Nice video, too. I had to watch it twice: Once for seeing you play (it’s not the new guitar with the P90’s, right?!) and once for the pictures. Brought me back some fond memories of my trip there two years ago.
