Billy
I went back in his postings – he is using a Peavey Vypyr – don’t know which one except that it has 12 different amp models
John B
the Peavey Vypyr is a really good amp; If you are looking for a good blues tone, its a matter of experimentation.
Choose the Peavey Classic model first, the Classic 30 & 50 has a great blues tone so this would be a good place to start. Set your tone controls mid-way and play for a while. increase your gain a little at a time and see if you like it. Maybe add in one of the stomp box models for overdrive. Play around with it until you get a tone that you like and then save your patch
Switch then to the Fender Twin model – go thru the same process. Then try the model for Vox and I think that the Vypry has a model for Budda amps. Budda amps are great so try that one
You just have to work with it to see what you like. As I mentioned, the Vypry is a great amp so you have a good starting point to build on
One thing to be aware of – if your tone is sounding muddy, turn the bass control down

I agree Billy – too much confusion for me
We need to do our part to help this continue running well. Its one of the best if not the best guitar forum available and we can’t let it go down

Oh 100% in agreement there Keith, sharing and helping is as much an important feature to the forum as Brian’s lessons are.

The Peavey Vypyr is a good amp – Peavey amps in general are really good. You have a good amp to use as a starting point.
John, as I mentioned earlier, you have to take your time and experiment with the amp. Your playing style is different from everyone else so your have to find what sounds good to your heart & soul. It takes time and just like getting to know another person, it will take some time to really get to know the Vypyr and its controls.
Be patient, you will find your sound

Couple of things when setting the amp
Guitar controls – when setting up my amp tones I have my volume on about 6 tone on the bridge tends to be set halfway while tone on neck pickup is set at 10.
For home use vox amp models will sound quite bright whereas your Marshall amp model gives you a fuller kind of sound Fender is different again.
With reverb I back off reverb to very little with a lot of drive if it’s a swampy sound your after while using lots on clean. With overdrive your best experimenting with delay / echo for rock.
One thing I use with overdrive is tremolo I really like it
If your amp is full featured find a compressor patch you like giving you more scope and let’s you turn down/off overdrive while still getting the same amount of sustain
