This challenge seemed like a good excuse for some multi tracking, and I had fun with this one!
Wrote my main riff for unison bass and guitar, then the guitar branches out for counter melody and solo, and then returns to the main riff.
Recorded on GarageBand using the AI drummer (which is great,) Tele bridge pickup into a Marshall sim and PJ bass into a Mesa sim.
Thanks for listening!

Love the main riff and how everything kept coming back to it. Nicely done, Alan.
My grandson just started a Montessori JK, so far so good.

Great groove Alan! Enjoyed the interplay between bass and guitar you put in here. It’s amazing the power in garage band, and that it’s bundled in with the Mac stuff!

It sounds fun too and pretty much party mode. Creatively put together with a feel good main riff. That’s making music. Top notch.

Your riff jam really packs a punch, Alan. Great groove, sharp sounding guitar and a pulsating bass. And so perfectly put together. That was fun!

Hey Alan, I love the power in your main riff… the driving bass sound. Really captures the genera and gets the blood flowing. Excellent!

Wow Alan, I thought I was listening to Gov’t Mule! Seriously well done! Had a hard foot stomping driving rhythm!

That clipped staccato style is really cool. The bass is even cooler. And this challenge does apparently lend itself to pieces supported by Garage Band and similar software. Love it.

Fantastic!
This is right up my street and that main riff kills!
Really tight bass groove gave it the foundation it needed.
Loved it well done.

Ohh, that was superb! Pro sounding production and super catchy driving rhythm, hard to stay still listening to it! I would never suspect that sound was from a telecaster, so thank you for including the setup description, quite amazing!

Mission accomplished, Alan! Unwantingly, my head started bopping after the first few notes. Great idea adding a bass and guitar. I don’t even understand what a counter melody is, but that’s why I’m here: to learn.

Way to go Alan! Reminds me of Born Under a Bad Sign in the style of Cream. Your tone is superb like Eric did on that track. Jack Bruce is smiling too with that awesome bass line! Well done

Cool groove and cleverly put together with the different layers , the bass works well as a solid foundation and the tele compliments fully with a fine tone from the bridge pick up .

That is absolutely cool as it can be Alan! Your experience and expertise in creating bass grooves is in full evidence. Love how you played that in unison, then took the bass and guitar onto separate and complementary parts, and then back to the unison. Very nice. The sustain on the first note in the riff also gets your attention! I’ve been listening to Mark Sandman and Morpine again recently – I really like his 2 string bass work and the band even though they don’t use guitars:-). You probably know them (90’s band) but if not might be worth a listen. Rock on, Tom

Wow, Alan, this was fantastic! Man, you really rocked this out. Really unique composition with several interesting parts. Right after that opening riff, there was a sort of a change — first the chords, and then at 0:24 with the first three notes, I though I was listening to the the group “Yes” all of a sudden. Great guitar tone. Very cool!

Hi Alan.
Great rock vibe there – had my foot tapping along.
Also a good production – something I would like to get better at my self. I have Ableton and it’s a bit of a learning curve. 😉
This was great. Thanks.

Great! I’ve recently bought a bass guitar and this is a good example of how much it adds to the sound.
