Last month was my first video. All the comments were really encouraging, couldn’t wait to learn EP177.
I played through the entire piece, then for fun added a beat with a loop pedal!
I got into a groove at the end, just wish I would have smiled a little!

Solid as a rock Clay! Great job. Steady bassline with the thumb and cool back beat with the looper. Nice work!

It’s okay, Clay, we were smiling. I’ve had the same comment in some of my videos. I find it helps not to include your head in the shot! Cool use of the looper. I’ve seen percussive effects done on YouTube but first time on AM.

That was great playing and, like everyone else already said, your use of the looper was art.

Very well played! Solid thumb droning action all the way! Even when you find yourself in a pinch the thumb never fails to hit. This is real evidence that your thumb is independent from the rest of your hand!
Spot on regarding the lesson as well!- "Pretty Fingers Parker"

I did the smiling for you. It was a tough piece for me, yet you made it look easy, and your timing which was critical to this lesson was right on. Nicely done!!

David B.My acoustic guitar is a Taylor GS Mini in Koa. I really like it.
It is smaller but has a really full size sound in person. -

WilfriedPlay guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Well done Clay, solid performance, you’ve definitely got that thumb-and-fingers-independence going strong, without missing a beat, and bringing in the looper is a great touch. I can feel the work you put into mastering this technique, just like Bri put in so much work. It’s a compliment to the audience when a player makes the effort. He’d be proud. Thank you.

Hey Clay, sounds to me like you’re a natural thumb thumper, rock solid bass lines throughout and the use of the looper on this is really well done. Great job on this man.

I was worried that using the loop pedal would be seen as gimmicky or cheating.
I’m really glad to see the positive reaction! -

Clay – Wow, that really was some solid playing. I also liked the use of the looper. That Taylor Mini sure does have a mighty big sound for a little guy. Great post.

Clay,
Wow! I love the tone and groove you captured in your rendition. You are an inspiration to me as I had a real struggle with this piece. And your use of the looper is nothing short of brilliant! I loved it!
Bravo.
Cheers, Debra
