Hello all and happy challenge day!
For this lesson I used the bonus section from lesson EP 187 that talked about how to write your own composition. So I ran with that and composed a song called “Ocean Breeze” in the key of D at 75 bpm. This was a ton of fun and as always I learned a lot thanks to this lesson and many other learnings from past lessons and challenges.
Hope you enjoy – look forward to listening and watching your submissions.
Jeff

Jeff, this is an absolutely great interpretation. You always make such great videos. It was very convincing and therefore very suitable. Very good idea and work. I also notice this kind of interpretation that you can work on the guitar very independently. Great respect from me. Thumps up!

WilfriedPlay guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Hey Jeff, you are truly an inspiration! That video was so much fun I had to gather my whole family around to show it to them. The only criticism I have to offer is that you should have thrown your guitar back into the sea at the end. That would have wrapped it up nicely.

wonderful, original, fun, musically uplifting – lovin du islands mun – even the gulls were right in tune. Great synching, and outstanding video making (I’m busting my brains just trying to do a split screen, and here you’ve got a whole Speilberg/Lucas production). Way to go, Jeff.
Musically, video-ly, creatively – you’re raising the bar way high. Fun in the AM sun. Thanks for your work on this. -

Too funny Jeff! I really liked that. My wife and I were cracking up when the seagulls flew by and then again when the dogs came in. A real nice easy listening and uplifting tune. Definitely one of your best posts so far. The playing reminds me of Jack Johnson a bit. Great job!

Jeff,
Wow, Wow and Wow !!!!!!!! This is the best video I have seen for creativity ever posted on AM in my humble opinion. This was so creative, so musical and I loved the different ideas that you came up with for the guitar washing ashore and the dogs running in on the side, the seagulls and the whole vibe. Loved it !
Now, let’s get to the guitar playing and composition. More Wow’s – what can I say – double creativity going on here for sure. Loved the beat and your flawless guitar playing.
I know Bri is up there looking down and thanking you for all the time and creativity you poured into this challenge and for putting a big smile on his face.
Just Great!

Hi Jeff,
So you must be in the movie industry or somewhere in the “arts” Your creativity excels.
I always watch your productions to the end…..(and I too call my wife in to take a look and listen)
So your audience is growing. I admire your playing and adventures with your own composition. If I were to make one
suggestion, it would be to somehow provide a bit more melody, a recurring theme….as in “sing-able”.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to entertain us….as you can see from the comments, AM is lovin it……myself included. Yah Maaan…..Have a great weekend.

Wildried – thank you
Kamen – thank you and glad to hear it uplifted your day 🙂
Steve – Thank you – great idea for the ending
Canada Moose – thank you
Midas – Thank you – This song was influenced by Jack Johnson – I just discovered him while working on this song. His style and technique captured my attention. I’ve been listening to his songs over and over for a good solid month now. Good ear to catch that connection.
JohnStrat – Thank you
Tim – Thank you
David – Thank you. Yes I do work hard on the audio quality too. I asked Brian what is recommendation for an acoustic pick up would be. I landed on the Fishman RareEarth Humbucking. It’s easy to use, plugs in well to garage band and sounds great.
John – thank you
Martin – Thank you and great feedback about the melody part. I did struggle with that trying to add melody but nothing seemed to fit well at the time. The learning process is as much fun as playing sometimes. 🙂
Brian – Thank you – now you have committed to a moon surface lesson 🙂
Lights – Thank you
Larry – Thank you
Patrick – Thank you
Don – Thank you

Well I always look forward to the monthly Jeff Show. Aside from the cool production, I don’t want to lose sight of the fact that you’re an excellent guitarist and you have composed a beautiful song. Don’t know how you’re gonna top this next month!
