Haha, Every Saturday night with Mom and Dad watching Hee Haw!! I wasn’t overly impressed at the time, mostly because it was Hee Haw. However I had the pleasure of seeing him live years later at a very small venue, outdoors under a tent and he was incredible!

i was on a different planet when “Hee Haw” premiered in ’69. But i came to regard Roy as an excellent guitarist
What a horrible, stupid show. And it was only years later that I found out how good Roy Clark and especially Buck Owens were.
And he did it in one take.. 😉
EDIT: Looks like he is still alive too ..
Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.
Hee Haw, was pretty bad show with today’s glasses on….but my grandson loves to sing in the car: “where o where are you tonight, why did you leave me here all alone……I searched the world over……
LOL

He’s amazing! He does a version of “Yesterday When I Was Young” that’s about the equal of Lena Horne’s with Gabor Szabo.
