Hi Jan and welcome to the site and forum. We do have a few members here that live in Germany. They’ll probably see your post and comment.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Servus Dieter,
Gruss

Hi Eric,
Good to know I’m actually going through the beginner course. At the module 7 with pattern 2 it’s difficult to find the right rhythm the up and down strokes are fine it’s just to follow the jam track

Hi Jan, happy new year. I guess here are some Germans around, Denmark as well. I am from Hamburg but I just did not browse very often these threads.
Wilfried comes from the Harz area.
Best, Thomas

Hi Jan, it’s funny to see how widely the German members are distributed across the country, isn’t it. I am located near Frankfurt/Main.

Jan, I started seriously 4 years ago. First year I spent learning a lot of basics because I really had no clue about music. But I lost a lot of time browsing the internet trying to find out what I really want. Second year I decided that blues is a good genre to learn. I had a little beginner experience when I found AM. I liked the way Brian is teaching and after 6 month I decided to become a p.member to dive deeper into his lessons. The beginning was really hard for me. It took me 3-4 month to learn a session. Now, two years with Brian I understand immediately what he is doing an it takes me 2-4 weeks to learn a lesson completely. 6 month ago I Discovered the forum and since then I try to be part of the monthly challenge – which I love because it forces me to stay focussed.
What about you, how long is your experience?

Thomas, I’m let say an absolutly guitar greenhorn 🙂 I started in september my guitar carrer and have once a week a private lesson. Beside this i bought an online course it’s a great course with video etc but it’s Rock Metal basic course and I realize I don’t like to play Rock metal. My goal was always to learn to play Blues.
so I found Brian’s website but if I’m ownest it’s a little bit to early for me this means the Lessons are still a little bit tocomplex. I finished his Basic Beginner Course and will try now the Blues Lead course.

Jan, I can absolutely understand this. You need patients with yourself, long endurance and a structured plan. If you think you would like to talk to me directly and exchange a little bit, just let me know.

Hi Jan and others,
I’m in Berlin, and am looking for some others to meet and play with. My regular jamming buddy had a baby a few months ago, and is out of action. I’m of a 1960s vintage. Brian’s lessons are really encouraging, as they are oriented around how to be creative with scales, chords, and arpeggios, rather than simple wrote learning. I’ve learned a lot from his site. The other big plus is that he has one of the best, user-friendly sites. Especially the favourites button, is useful. But I also like to slow and fast backing tracks, as well as the interface.Norman Saadi

Hi Saadi,
it’s sound like that you are not a beginner player anymore. I’ve just started in September so still have other problems at the moment 😉 For me the lessons are to advanced I started with the course in the hope to bring out the right tones. Working on the chord changes
cheers

Hi Jan,
Really nice of you to reply. I guess I am beyond beginner level, but in a certain sense the guitar is so rich in possibilities that one never stops learning. I can see what you mean about the lessons being too advanced, as Brian’s lessons are on the whole aimed towards intermediates. But nevertheless, his approach encourages creativity, and in hindsight i wish i had found his site when i was just starting to learn. I may sound confident, but am rather shy about playing with others. But at the same time I feel that playing music with others is a valuable part of learning the guitar. Its why I like bands such as Jay Som and Big Thief. They just seem to have so much fun playing together, without being so serious, and often are not afraid to just bang out a three note phrase as the main riff.
Good luck with it.
best

Hi Jan,
and hi to all germans here too,
i am living Hemmoor, near the river Oste, and down the way from Hamburg to Cuxhaven. I just saw this post after a long time cause i don t have the chance to be online, i am a so called seaman, may one of the last around and most of the time i spend on board anywhere all around the oceans without any internet.
Former i was born in SH, Norderstedt near the border at Hamburg.I recognized also that most of us germans here are widely spreaded over the country so up to now i never had the chance to met someone here around.
So far for now,
kind regardsRudi

Hi Jan,
