Has anyone out there played one of these Acoustic guitars that Brian’s using at the moment? If yes can you make it sound any where near as good as he does? I’m probably right in thinking Brian could make a elastic band on a biscuit tin sound good. I’m looking for a new Acoustic at the moment and this one looks like a real contender. I’ve searched the internet and they stock them in Guitar Village in Surrey; do any of you Brits out there no of any where else?
Cheers

Hey Bob
Greetings from across the pond.
Haven’t played the Alvarez but I have played one of Washburn’s parlor guitar. If you have any Washburn dealers nearby, you should try them as well as the Alvarez. Well built and projects well considering its small size.
Of course, Alvarez are well built as well – I have 2 of them and for the price, Alvarez & Washburn are worth the money.

I would also give Taylor a try. If your looking for a smaller guitar in general, the GS mini is wonderful. If not, any of their Grand Concert series are a dream to play. I just bought an all Koa model and I love it!

Thanks for all your comments. What I plan to do is learn anything that Brian puts out acoustic on my Epiphone Sheraton so as I have a few numbers to play, then try out a few Acoustic guitars before I purchase one. So probably will be trying them out towards the end of the year.
Thanks
Bob.

Here’s a nice review of the Albarez AP 70 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgH0nonmemM I’ve been thinking about getting a parlor for the shorter scale length.

StuHi Stu, I just purchased a Alvarez AP70 and I hate the D’Addario EXP strings, did you change the string on your guitar? I asked Brian what strings he uses on hid MPA70 and he said Martin medium. Also I have to take it in to lower the action on the neck, other then those two items I love the guitar.

My goodness what a difference a good luthier can make to the sound and action of a guitar, wish I had this done years ago when I started …. Peace … Serge
