looking for some advice, does anyone have a recommendation on acoustic guitar strings. I am looking for a string that has a warmer sound(semi-bright).
Thank you!

I never paid much attention to strings until recently when my fretting index finger was getting sore from age and arthritis. I almost felt that maybe I would not be able to play acoustic guitar. A lot of people told me to try a silk qne steel string and I tried GHS 345 Silk and Steel and they are 10’s. Very mellow and bright enough for me. You may get a drop more bright if you move up to 11’s. They have solved my problem for sure.

I tried a lot and have been very satisfied with Elixir Polyweb Extra Light Acoustic 10/47 for years.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

I use Elixir Nanoweb Extra Light – 010s. My main concern is how they feel: Are they too squeaky when I slide? No. Can I easily bend strings? Yes. Is it difficult to make bar chords? No. Do they rust and get scratchy? No. Are they pretty? Yes.

I am very interested to hear how you like that type of strings. I know they are not for everyone and they are termed mellow I really love them. The comfort of my finger is just great. Looking forward to hearing what you think.
Good luck!

One of the great things about online merchants is free shipping.
Every guitar will react differently to string sets, I went thru 7-8 different sets before I found the set that I thought sounded best. I would order a few sets from Musician’s Friend or Sweetwater and try them. With free shipping, it helps in the process.
Some sets would only be on for a day or two – I knew that it wasn’t what I wanted. I’d change them and move on – my teenage nephew rec’d several used sets of strings that were still good. You mentioned 11’s and I think that is a good gauge – with 10’s I had too much string slap against the neck. They were too light for my approach for fingerstyle. 12’s are OK but certain licks and fingerstyle techniques were considerably harder with 12’s. So, 11’s are very comfortable for me
But that’s me – take your time and find what works for you and if you use something different than the masses – so be it. Its will be what’s right for you2 string sets that I would recommend for you to try would be:

Hey Cobalt,
I actually bought the GHS Silk/Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings (12-54) and have been playing with them for the past three days. I really like the sound ( they are not as bright as the D’Addario exp16 that I was using, which is what I was looking for ). Very enjoyable to play and easy to bend. I think I found my goto strings. Thanks!

I have had good luck with Daddario Nickel Bronze on some guitars and Martin Retro (Monels) on others. Both are a little bright for the first day or two, but once they settle in they are pretty warm sounding. They also seem to last quite long for non-coated strings.
I also recently tried Daddario’s new XT strings on a couple of guitars and they are quite nice once they settle in; I find all strings are too bright the first day or two.
I know a lot of people like John Pearse Phosphor Bronze, but I haven’t tried them myself.
Finding the rights strings for you and your guitar is a long road sometimes. Good Luck.

I’ve got D’Addario Flat Top 10’s on my acoustic slightly warm and reduced finger noise
I’ve found that I have sticky fingers and prefer the smoother feel
I’ve a couple of other Acoustics which have different requirements one a Nylon strung the other a Dobro slide type
