Over the few years that I’ve been putting guitar instructional videos online, I’ve noticed that there are lots of one-off lessons out there (including my own) that show you how to play part of a solo (but don’t give you the background context), and then there are those lessons that are loaded with theory, but leave you scratching your head going, “what did he just say?” With this course, I’ve pulled all of my knowledge on how to play blues lead guitar into a comprehensive course that walks you through all of the basics, starting at the root level.
In this course I’ll cover the 5 different patterns that I associate with the minor pentatonic scale (the blues scale). This course also has 43 different repeatable licks that you can use to plug and play into just about any style of music. I’ve included tab with each lick as well. Also included are 3 very different jam tracks, that are different styles of music and each in a different key. That is done intentionally so that you can learn how to take the theory and licks that you learn in this course, and apply it to songs that are in different keys. The thought is that you’ll walk away with a very sound understanding of how it works, and be equipped with a decent supply of licks to use.
This lesson has really been a labor of love for me because I wanted to make sure it was thorough enough to cover everything that I could logically articulate. I tried to create the lesson that I would have liked to have when I started learning.
So if you’ve always wanted to learn how to play blues lead guitar and haven’t really known where to start, or if you’re looking to take your playing to the next level, this course is a must-have.
