Well my ryhthm guitar sounds crap compared to youre example think the vibrato really sets that one off, any tips??
Also bizzarly i seem to be better at the advanced rhythm than the basic one, though just need to get up to speed i'm thinking of slowing the backing track down a little as im thinking its important to get the technique and style accurate before getting faster.

It's definitely better to be accurate before learning to play fast - speed is something that comes over time - but definitely shouldn't be an initial goal. Just try to get the lick down first, then over time you can gradually increase the tempo.

Which example rhythm of mine were you referring to? Are you saying you want better tone?

This is great advice Brian. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it is important to play a piece slow enough to be accurate so that your fingers (muscle memory) learn it correctly. Once your fingers have it, you can work on speeding it up.
