Active Melody

Ok, maybe I’m dating myself a bit here, but does anyone use an ebow when playing?  I was thinking about getting one but I’ve never tried one - and they cost around $100 - which is a lot to pay for something I may or may not ever use.  I understand how they work (in theory), just wondered what the hangups are.  Do they cause feedback?  etc.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Do NOT spend the hundred bucks on an Ebow!  The reason that no one used them any more is because they suck!  I used to play one years ago and the feedback it causes is terrible, not to mention that it’s pretty tricky to figure out how to use.  I had a hard time determining if I was hovering of the correct string or not, and the battery in mine kept dying.. so if you can pick one up on eBay for $20 go for it, otherwise, save your money.
