Well I’m really an old newbie, and I do mean old, 74 years next month. Found this site by complete accident, and I reckon it’s the best I’ve seen. and I’ve seen quite a few, I started to try and learn Guitar when I was 17, but something else came up, speedway racing, this was the downfall of learning Guitar, it was sold. About 18 months ago I got really keen again, don’t know what inspired this now, but having always considered the electric guitar as number one of musical instruments I thought I’ll have another try before I finish permanently horizontal, and I’m still struggling, but Brian’s 3 note lesson has inspired me more than previous months, the way he makes music out of three notes has got me back again. My skill at guitar would be out of ten a 1, I could be bragging here, all I can do is 4 chords, by the time I change from one to the next the timing has gone down in flames, I find it easier to play single notes, just need to get up to speed, I enjoy string bends, and find that adds so much more to guitar playing, so I’ll be sticking with that 3 note melody, I’ll be so happy if I can only get that sounding reasonably good, just wish those strings were further apart, ( joke )

Stick with that guitar playing people, time goes by quicker that you imagine.

                                                                                                                                   Vahn.

I’m so glad I found Brian’s YouTube lessons and this site. I’ve played around with guitar for about 30 years off/on. I am trying to refine what I self taught myself. Currently own a acoustic electric Washburn. I enjoy blues, country, and 70’s Neil young. Years ago when I was able to strum three chords successfully I was asked by a more advanced player to just keep strumming the chords over and over while he would play some lead. I know nothing about reading music but think I have a fairly good ear for it. Hope to be sharing my progress with you all.

Hey folks
I’m glad I found another forum:)
Little about me, I’ve had my guitars forever but up till about over a year ago, never go serious about them. Thought for a while of getting rid of them, now I’m glad I didn’t. I got laid off in 2009 and needed an outlet. Picked them back up, researched the net and that with what I learned from private lessons got me going again! Now its every night on the guitar and I enjoy it more and more. While researching the net I found this admins (don’t know your name sorry) video on 2 and 3 note solos. I applied his 3 note solo to a country song I found on youtube and wow. Dude you are the sh!!! I like the way you say blues is all about feeling and not so much about pizaz, which it is. I’ve always loved the blues and I love to play them!

Anyway nuff about myself:)
