4.3 Introducing The Simple C Chord
This Section Of The Beginner Guitar Course Covers The Following:
The simple C chord uses three fingers, compared to a full C chord which uses all six strings. It is created with the first finger on the first fret, second string. This produces a simple, clean C note which rings out without any buzzing. A challenge with the C chord is that it is close to the nut which is between the neck and head. The greater string tension at this location makes it more difficult to push down. When making the nut, use the thumb to squeeze. To avoid buzzing, make sure that the finger is arched and not touching any other strings.
