This section will explain the proper way to hold a guitar. It is very important that you hold a guitar in the correct manner.
If you are right handed:
- The left hand should be on the neck
- The back of the guitar should press against your torso
- The right arm overlaps the guitar
If you are left handed, you may want to flip the guitar upside down and reverse it so that your right hand is on the neck and your right hand strums.
It doesn't matter if you play left handed or right handed, you should feel comfortable when you are playing your guitar.
Fret markers are on the top of most guitar necks to allow you to see what fret your fingers are on without having to crane your neck.
