In this section, you will learn two basic scales and alternate picking for single notes. There are hundreds of types of scales, including pentatonic scales, major scales, minor scales and blues scales. These two beginning scales are based on a basic pattern shape and provide the student with the ability to play almost anything. The scales can be used when improvising, playing in a band or playing along with the radio.
